rubbing of tree spirit stone carving from India
While in Northern India, before finding the images in the cave in Nepal, I made a rubbing of a tree spirit, a primitive carving on a small rectangular stone which is placed at the base of a sacred Banyon tree. This rubbing was the basis of the figure in this collage. The cave walls are a photo collage of various caves which are in the mountain above a sacred lake, Tso Pema, in India. This is a magical piece which seems to create a connection with one's primordial nature.
